Welcome to Wept.tv: 60 seconds to report the news and to pray about it. Today is August 14 and I’m reporting on Floods. Let’s fuse our news together with prayer, so we can get right to it. God, Creator of Earth, Wind and Rain we open our eyes together to the folks going through deadly floods right now in Louisiana, Mexico and the Philippines. For all of you in Macedonia, North Wisconsin and South Minnesota, we hold you in our Arms of Prayer. Sudan, Bangladesh, China and India, we cry out to Heaven for your homeless and malnourished from flooding. Texas, Maryland, New Jersey, and Milwaukee. For all of you who are impacted by a flood, we your human family are praying for you and will continue to lift you up! - Louisiana – Right Now (Saturday, August 13, 2016)
- 3 dead, thousands others being rescued being rescued by boat, high-water vehicles and by air. In Livingston Parish, where more than 20 inches of rain fell in 24 hours. So far over a thousand people and 100 pets have been rescued from their homes and cars — and in some cases, from trees they were desperately clinging to. - Sudan Floods – August 5th
- 80,000 people affected, 76 deaths, The Nile river is at its highest levels in more than a century and 13 of the country’s 18 provinces had been affected by flash flooding. completely destroyed 3,206 houses and damaged 3,048 others in the eastern province of Kassala, People made homeless by widespread flooding in Sudan that has killed 76 people in recent days are facing serious food shortages and threats from disease, officials say. - Bangladesh – August 8, 2016
- Floods have hit 1.9 million people in Bangladesh. Floods in Bangladesh have once again exposed the fragile relationship between people and water. 14 dead, 7,400 have sought refugee in 69 relief camps. Yes, Bangledesh get moonsoon floods all the time, but what they’re saying over there, is this is the worst it’s been in over three decades. Floodwaters also carry the potential for life-threatening waterborne diseases. Most of the people who live there make their living from farming or fishing, and many entire crops have been utterly destroyed. - Eastern India – July 31, 2016
- “no rain mercy for us” they say, flood death toll now 59. 500 relief camps are now caring for 250 thousand people recently homeless from the rains. 19,500 acres of croplands are destroyed from floods. - China – July 23
- Large parts of China have been inundated with rain this summer, killing more than 200 people. Overall, about 8.6 million people have been affected by the flooding, according to state media and local government reports. Floods in China kill scores, displace tens of thousands. At least 154 people killed and thousands displaced as heavy rain triggers floods and landslides in parts of China. Nearly 50,000 homes have collapsed, it said. thunderstorms and strong winds forced 72,000 people from their homes and damaged 18,000 houses.
