This is a “Scripture song” written by JD Sebastian with lyrics from 2 Chronicles 7:14.  2 Chronicles is the last book of the Hebrew Bible in the order followed by Judaism, the same text of which is found in the Old Testament of the Bible followed by Christians.  This song (and especially the ancient spiritual text the lyrics are derived from) can be viewed as hope for the idea that a Creator who–perhaps might have actually made this planet–would be putting out that same invitation, today, that divine help will be ours as we begin to turn from the “wicket ways” of destroying our Earth and it’s atmosphere–whether from too much fossil fuels being used, war, or deforestation, that perhaps we will have Divine Assistance in healing this thing we require to stick around this planet: our climate.
